Your contacts
With your permission, Honeyday reads names, photos and dates from the Contacts on your device: birthdays, anniversaries and other dates. It never writes to your contacts and never sends them anywhere. On iPhone and iPad you can share only some of your contacts, and you can take the permission back at any time in Settings.
Your iCloud
What you decide in the app, like who you want to be reminded about, which entries are hidden, your notes and the entries you add yourself, is stored on your device and synced to your other devices through your private iCloud database. Apple keeps that data in your iCloud account under your Apple Account. I cannot see it, and nobody else can either. Your contacts themselves are not copied there. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the device.
To find a contact again on your other devices, the app stores a fingerprint of the name and date with each entry. It is a hash, so the name is not in it in readable form, and it lives in the same private database.
On the device
Reminders are scheduled on the device as notifications, and they need your permission. The widget, Siri and Spotlight read a copy of the upcoming dates that the app keeps on the device for them. None of this leaves your device.
The App Store
Honeyday comes from the App Store, so buying and installing it happens between you and Apple. What reaches me is Apple’s sales report: how many copies were bought and in which country, counted up and never tied to a person. Apple’s own privacy policy covers that side of it.
This website
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no fonts or scripts from other servers. The page is static and hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which keeps server logs including IP addresses in order to serve it. The start address honeyday.app reads the language your browser asks for and sends you to that version of the site; nothing of it is stored. On your first visit the page shows a little confetti and remembers in your browser’s local storage that it did, so it does not do it again. That note stays in your browser.
